Our mission at Ann’s ferret shelter and adoption is to serve ferrets by finding them a loving, safe, happy, and permanent home. We also try to provide informational help for established ferret homes. We accept all ferrets regardless of age, color, wellness, temperament, and habits. We have ferrets that are ready for their permanent home, and we have ferrets that are life-residents because of age, and/or illness. Ferrets are our first concern. We are a 501c3 non-profit. We welcome all donations either directly through the shelter or through our vets office. Donations are a tax right off and anything you are able to give will go a long way in helping a ferrets life. You can also call and find out exactly what your money / items will be used for (usually a surgery, but we can tell you exactly what ferret it is for and they are having done.)

Ann’s ferret shelter and adoption does not adopt out ferrets to families with children under ten. The adoption process starts with filling out a adoption form. The adoption forms are screened and processed. The next step is the visitation process. Where you must schedule a visit to come and visit with our adoptables and see which of our adoptables best suits you and your family. If you have other ferrets we have them come with you to make sure that they are compatible with the new ferret you are hoping to get. The next step is the home inspection where we must make sure that you are set up to maintain your ferret with a cage and supplies. The new family is notified when their ferret is ready for them. We do another inspection after the ferret has been in their home for a while just to make sure that the ferret is adjusting. We give support to adoptive families and answer questions long after the adoption process it through. We are not happy unless our new families are happy.

FERRET OWNERS NEEDING HELP

If you are unable to care for your ferret/ferrets please contact us day or night and we can arrange to pick up your ferret. We welcome ferret owners to come out and view our facility before leaving your ferret in our care. We spend one on one time everyday with the ferrets/our children. We do not turn any ferrets away. We realize that times are hard and that life is also hard. Sometimes the cuts we have to make require us to have to give up a valuable family member as in a pet. Change of job, moving, or any reason. All names in our files are kept confidential. We do not judge anyone. We do not make money on ferrets, we have not ever even broken even, we only do this out of our love for the four legged fur balls we call our children/or ferrets.

 

OTHER HELP NEEDED

Our goal is to help your ferret family stay together. With this in mind we try to send people information on ferrets and try to find answers to their questions. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have and we will try to find out the answer if we do not have it. Please feel free to contact us for ferret doctors or to inform us of ferret doctors in your area. We will try to respond to every e-mail as quickly as possible. If you have ferret items that you are no longer using, we can pick them up and use them here or pass them on to our new families that may need or be able to use them. We accept donations.
